Health Ministries

Annual Report

The mission of the Health Ministries program is to assist the local faith community members in their effort to live full, abundant and healthy lives.

The Health ministries has provided information to members of GSUMC related to pertinent health concerns, in newsletters and through the Sunday bulletins. This year, our team members attended a continued education program at Kirtland Community College as well as hosted and attended a two day workshop on suicide prevention.

We also hosted and participated in two of the 6 week sessions offered by Heartland Home Care/hospice (grief support group) and presented an emergency preparedness program for GSUMC ushers and greeters. We continue to provide a monthly blood pressure screening for our congregation and visitors between services on Sunday.

Our goals in the coming year include:

Monthly blood pressure screening
Continuance of providing health information in our newsletters
Support and participate in Relay for Life in our community
Attend continuing education workshops
Host and participate in continuing education programs at GSUMC
Determine the need for health visitations among our infirm.

And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well.
