Visitation

It has been a trying year for our visitation team due to the loss of several people they had been visiting. Even though your mind says those people have gone to be with the Lord and it is a time that should be celebrated, your heart feels the loss of someone who had become as close as family. It reminds us that we are all part of one family.

We all need the encouragement and support given by the promises of Jesus in the scriptures and we are fortunate at Good Shepherd to have an active visitation team.
This team meets on the last Tuesday of the month at 2:00PM in the Health Ministries Room. They discuss how visits have been going and add the names of new people to visit as the need arises. They are also expanding their visits to include homebound and nursing home residents who have not been members or constituents of Good Shepherd but nevertheless need the hope and comfort of our Lord.

A compassionate spirit, a willingness to encourage others and the ability to keep confidences are the main requirements to be a team member. All team members must also go through child and vulnerable adult protection training which is available at Good Shepherd.

God Bless,
Cindy Edwards, Visitation Team Chair
