What is the goal of the ministry?
Our goal is to provide technical support (sound and video) for church services and occasionally at other meetings and events.
We support in 3 areas: (1) the soundboard controls all the microphones and speakers; (3) the computer provides video support in the form of Power Point slide shows. (4) During the week, our team prepares the slide shows for both Sunday Services.
When does it meet?
There are no regular meetings. Technical support occurs regularly at the 9:00am and 11:00am Sunday Services and occasionally at other functions.
How many team members are there on the team?
Currently there are 14 team members. We need to provide 2 Power Point operators and 2 Soundboard operators every Sunday. Many members are able to perform 2 or 3 of our support jobs.
How can someone get on the team?
a. What are the qualifications?
Reliability is very important in all areas.
Soundboard: Ability to read, listen, and focus completely on the service. We provide training with mentoring until a good level of comfort is reached.
Power Point: Ability to read, listen, and focus completely on the service. We provide training with mentoring until a good level of comfort is reached.
Power Point Preparation: Helpful to have computer and Microsoft products knowledge. Helpful to have some inclination toward design and color. Training is provided.
b. Can someone volunteer or must they be asked?
We love volunteers!
Is there anything that you need for your team that can be provided by church members/attendees?
I would like to see the team get more recognition for their time and devotion to making the services a good experience.
For questions or more information contact Jim Kavanaugh or Sue Shoemaker who are our schedulers & PowerPoint techs or Greg Jaynes who is the Sound leader.
