We want to be healthy all of our lives. For many of us, good health comes easier when we are younger. As we age we have to work harder for it. Changes associated with aging are inevitable; disease and disability are not. It's important to learn how to maintain good health, especially throughout our later years. Remember, it is never too late. You can benefit from improved health habits at any age! The good news; responsibility for your health is in your own hands. You are the one who can make the biggest difference and you are the one who will reap the most important rewards: a strong, active, happy life as you age, plus independence and the ability to do for yourself. Here are some common sense steps to healthy aging:

The Health Ministry program is to assist the local faith community in their efforts to enable members of the congregation to live full, abundant and healthy lives. The program is staffed by licensed professional nurses who seek to foster health and healing within the individual, the environment and their relationship with other and GOD.
As a service of the Health Ministry, Blood Pressures are taken at 10:15 am, in room 102, on the 3rd Sunday of the month.
One approach to understanding the health ministry function is to consider the role of a health minister, a minister of health, educator, counselor and central resource person and organizer of health needs of the congregation.
The health minister is a professional nurse with pastoral, clinical skills and a living faith. Health ministers may be contacted through Good Shepherd United Methodist Church at (989) 275-5575.
