The UMW would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year and thank you for your gifts, your time and prayers in 2011. Because of your contributions the UMW was able to give $2616.73 to local missions and church supported programs including:

Food Pantry, First congregational Church – $ 366.73
Ausable Free Medical Clinic – $300.00
Friendship Shelter – $300.00
Diapers for Health Department – $300.00
Good Shepherd Youth Mission trip for 2012 – $300.00
Good Shepherd Adult Mission Trip for 2012 – $250.00
JAM ( Jesus and Me program at the schools) – $200.00
Good Shepherd Child Development Center – $500.00
Good Shepherd Youth Program – $100.00

We invite all the women of Good Shepherd to join us for our February and March Book discussion meetings at Timbers Restaurant on Monday, February 13 and Monday, March 12. Several very interesting books were shared at our January meeting. You do not need to have read a book to come and enjoy dinner and the fellowship. We begin at 4:30 p.m. so you can order from the Early Bird menu.

Listed below are several opportunities coming up for spiritual growth and fellowship for women. Details and registration information are posted on the UMW bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.

District sponsored trip to Pennsylvania
April 25-30

Our first fund raiser for 2012 mission projects will be a Super Bowl Sunday bake sale between services on February 5. These items can be brought to church Sunday morning before the 9 a.m. service. Anything from breads to brownies, pies, cakes, etc. will be greatly appreciated.

Questionnaires were sent out to all the women of Good Shepherd to survey topics of interest and other concerns. All responses are greatly appreciated and we sincerely thank you for your input. We are looking forward to the tasks ahead with a renewed trust that the Lord will lead us in the right direction remembering always that we are His servants.

April – December: Our meetings are at the church on the 2nd Monday of the month. We have fellowship and a snack at 6:45 p.m., followed by a program and short business meeting.
January – March: We have a Monthly Book Discussion at the Timbers Restaurant on County Road 100 by the Cut River. Join us at 4:30 p.m. if you would like to take advantage of the "Early Bird Specials", or you can skip dinner and come around 5:15 for the book discussion.
