Women of the Bible
In the fall of 2001, a group of Good Shepherd UMC women gave a dramatic reading featuring women of the Bible. It was such a hit; the group was encouraged to take the show on the road and they did just that! Since then, the group has crisscrossed Michigan delivering 124 performances from their beginning through 2010. In October of 2005, they were honored to be selected to perform at the Win-Some Women retreat at the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island. This gathering draws several hundred attendees.
There is no fee for the performance. However, a ‘love offering’ is requested. Proceeds are used to support missions that assist women and children. Beneficiaries of the proceeds include the Roscommon Food Pantry, Cass Avenue Church, Liberia Mission, Church Family Charity, Pastor’s Discretionary Fund, Good Shepherd Bells, Haiti solar pots, and Project Hope to name a few.
